Dear Friends,
I would like to congratulate my opponents on their elections, I truly understand and respect the sacrifices that were made during the election. I extend my hand out to my opponents and offer my support to see that the City of Fairfield moves forward in a positive manner.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank my family, campaign committee, endorsers and associations, friends and supporters of my Fairfield City Council campaign who contributed in any way. Thank you for believing and trusting in me and the encouragement to pursue to run for Fairfield City Council. I am truly humbled by all the support received from the community. I am sincerely proud of the campaign we ran, as I couldn't have done it without all the help I received.
The Fairfield City Council race results ended very close with less than a 100 vote difference. After the ballots were all counted, it was obvious to me that the 14,658 residents who voted for Robert Marin for Fairfield City Council, were prepared to help lead the city in a more progressive direction. My decision to run for Fairfield City Council was easy, I always knew it was the right thing to do. I pledged to run to be an advocate for the citizens of Fairfield, in order to make our community better, and work to unite our city by focusing on:
-Creating a safer community - to live and work in a community citizens feel safe in;
-Enact responsible and effective planning - to create sustainable economic development in order to create a more vibrant community;
-Empower and engage the citizens of Fairfield to build a more cohesive and collaborative relationship with City Government, to focus on goals together to make our community stronger.
The opportunity to run for Fairfield City Council gave me a chance to meet thousands of people in our community who also felt strongly that change was necessary to move Fairfield in the right direction. I am committed to stay involved with our city government and organizations, to continue to work on improving our community, and be an advocate for the citizens of Fairfield. As one venture closes, new ventures begin. Thank you again, I am honored to have worked for, and with all of you!
